A complete turnkey solution
Anesco has managed the design and construction of some of the UK’s largest and most complex ground mount solar PV schemes.
Our specialist team offers a comprehensive service, from planning through to DNO liaison, construction and monitoring and maintenance for the life of the project.
Ground Mount Solar PV and Utility Scale Solar
At Anesco we develop, construct, operate and maintain high-performing utility scale solar farms; using ground mount solar PV, providing a complete turnkey solution for investors and landowners alike.
Hailed as industry pioneers, our extensive knowledge and experience spans solar PV and hybrid solutions, where solar and battery storage technologies are combined.
We take a unified approach to renewable energy, managing every aspect of a highly involved design, engineering and construction process. This is a key differentiator and coupled with our long term partner relationships, sets us apart from our competitors.
With a strong track record for building high quality ground mount solar sites, we have a comprehensive selection process that ensures the best sites are chosen for construction and the best prices for hardware are secured.
To date, we have built 105 utility scale solar farms. This includes the country’s first subsidy-free solar farm, known as Clayhill, a utility scale hybrid installation comprising of 10MW of solar and 6MW of energy storage, which was completed in 2017.
Utility Scale Energy Storage
Anesco is also the UK market leader for deploying and commissioning utility scale batteries for grid support and auxiliary services. Currently, Anesco has installed 87MW of battery storage across 49 sites.
Operations & Maintenance – Critical to Success
Operations and maintenance is vital for the success of any utility scale solar investment and at Anesco we take a proactive approach to managing assets.
Our state of the art in-house Network Operations Centre (NOC) works to industry standards and best practice, monitoring thousands of assets to maximise system performance, decrease downtime and ensure regulatory compliance.
Health & Safety
Anesco team members are direct employees and health and safety is of vital importance. We are proud of our exemplary safety record, being OHSAS 18001 and RoSPA Gold accredited for our approach to safety and the prevention of accidents.
Protecting the Environment
At all stages of development, consideration is given to the existing environment and natural habitats. Since 2016, we have worked closely with the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB), Europe’s largest nature conservation charity, to enhance the biodiversity of our solar farms, creating natural habitats for some of the country’s most at risk species and areas where wildlife and nature can flourish.

What is a Floating Solar Farm?
As floating solar PV (FSPV) continues to grow worldwide, with its design and capabilities offering many advantages – especially for areas where land suitable for ground mount solar is scarce.
Floating solar farms are created by attaching solar photovoltaic panels to a buoyant platform, typically moored on calmer bodies of water, such as ponds, lakes or reservoirs.
Gore Street Energy Storage Fund (GSF) has acquired an 81MW battery storage portfolio from Anesco for £29.2 million
The agreement forms part of a wider partnership between the two companies, which will see Anesco providing ongoing operations and maintenance (O&M) and asset optimisation services for the batteries.
Investor appetite continues to grow for battery storage
Back in May, I was delighted to take part in an Inspiratia hosted expert panel discussion, exploring the ‘coming of age’ of energy storage in the UK. Building on those conversations, the panel regrouped this week, looking in more detail at the ongoing challenges and opportunities faced by the sector.
From the early discussions with Anesco it became clear why they are so well respected in the renewables arena. They are incredibly easy to work with and at every stage of the process, from design and build through to the ongoing optimisation and maintenance of the sites, they have continued to display an outstanding
passion, knowledge and commitment to delivering the very best outcome.
